Burn Bans Increase over Northern Arkansas

As dry conditions persists in the Ozarks, a number of counties in Arkansas have issued burn bans.

Of the counties in the Lakes Region, currently Carroll, Madison, Marion, and Searcy have issued burn bans according to the latest map from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture.

No burn bans have been issued so far for Boone or Newton Counties, but they are included in the list of counties at a moderate risk of fire danger. 

According to the definition from the department's website,  a moderate risk means a fire can start from accidental causes. It may not become serious, but caution should be taken.

According to National Weather Service forecasts, the next chance of rain in the Lakes Region is Wednesday night into Thursday.
