Despite little rain over the last week, the late June rain combined with the precipitation that has fallen in July continues the trend of lower drought conditions.
The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows areas north of a Berryville-Omaha line as Drought Free which includes all of the Missouri Lakes Region. Areas south of that line are mostly Abnormally Dry while Newton and Searcy Counties are at a Moderate Drought Level.
Rain continues to be in the forecast for the region over the next several days.
