A firetruck from the Central Crossing Fire Protection District is involved in a traffic crash Thursday morning.
According to a post from the department’s Facebook page, a crew was responding to a medical emergency when an engine dropped a steer tire which then struck a large tree stump. Neither one of the firefighters on the truck were injured with the fire apparatus sustaining moderate damage and was driven from the scene. Officials state in a follow-up post that first responders were able to get to that and another medical emergency that occurred around the same time without delay.
The accident is under investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol according to the post.
