One of the events that serves as the launch of Independence Day Celebrations in the Lakes Region is this weekend.
The College of the Ozarks hosts its annual Honor America Event on Saturday on the campus at Point Lookout. Activities begin at 6:00 with food vendor trucks selling food with additional treats available at Edwards Mill. Kid Activities will also get underway with a Missouri Army National Guard UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter on display plus live entertainment from The Hunt Family Band and the 135th Army Band.
The Hard Work U. Concert Band will lead a patriotic musical tribute beginning around 8:45 with the celebration concluding with fireworks display by Encore Pyrotechnics and a drone light show by Sky Glow.
Legends 1063, MY 100.1, and New Country 1029 is a sponsor of the event and provides coverage leading up to the event on Saturday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
