The trend of wetter weather in the Lakes Region has brought water levels to normal.
The latest map from the U.S. Drought Monitor shows all of the Lakes Area Counties including Boone, Carroll, Madison, Marion, Newton, and Searcy in Arkansas along with Barry, Ozark, Stone, and Taney Counties in Missouri as drought free.
Some abnormally dry and moderate drought levels remain in the Springfield region and parts of central Missouri but the rest of the state and the most of Arkansas are drought free due to the recent precipitation in the region.
