A Taney County man is facing charges after a session of target shooting led to the injury of a neighbor.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed by the Taney County Sheriff's Office, Billy Hunter of Hollister was targeting shooting on August 9 into an RV when one of the shots went through the structure and struck a person standing in his yard. Officers said that the RV was in a direct path from where he was standing to the neighbor's house.
The victim was airlifted to Mercy Hospital in Springfield for treatment of the gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Hunter is facing a Felony Charge of 2nd Degree Assault and was released after posting a $50,000 Bond. His next court date is scheduled on September 10.
