SOUTHWEST MISSOURI — The U.S. Navy will host Navy Week in Branson and Springfield, Aug. 25–31, bringing Sailors into the community through performances, educational programs, and service projects as part of a nationwide outreach effort.
Since 2005, Navy Week has brought Sailors to more than 95 cities nationwide, giving communities a chance to connect with the Navy close to home. This year’s visit is extra special, as it coincides with the Navy’s 250th birthday.
During Navy Week, Sailors will team up with local groups like Habitat for Humanity Springfield, Ozarks Food Harvest, Convoy of Hope, Springfield Community Gardens and Dickerson Park Zoo to support community service projects.
They’ll also visit schools — including Truman Elementary, School of the Ozarks, and Branson High School — to inspire students with hands-on STEM activities and presentations.
