Phone Scam Alert

Phone scammers are pretending to call from the Taney County Sheriff's Office; the office raised the concern in a Facebook post.

**SCAM ALERT**

We have received several calls regarding a phone scam where the scammers use our number, which appears on caller ID and claim to be a Lieutenant or Sergeant with the Taney County Sheriff's Office. The scammers allege that you owe money for specific things, such as missed court dates, citations, etc.

Although very convincing THIS IS A SCAM. No one from the Sheriff’s Office will ever request funds over the phone, DO NOT pay anything regarding the Sheriff’s Office via phone.
