A man already facing Burglary Charges is now facing more charges after attempting to escape from the Stone County Jail in Galena.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Ronald James Hayden charged two civilian Stone County Jail Officers late Saturday afternoon forcing them to take cover in a secure area. Hayden did damage to some equipment in the room and armed himself with two tasers and unsuccessfully tried to break into a gun safe.
Hayden was eventually detained and is now facing four felony charges including Attempted Escape and Armed Criminal Action. His next court appearance on these charges is June 10.
