Another area Law Enforcement Agency is warning about a scam that is taking place.
According to a post by the Stone County Sheriff's Office, several county residents had been receiving calls on Tuesday from people claiming to be from the Stone County Sheriff’s Office and stating the residents had missed court dates and would have warrants issued if they did not cooperate.
Law Enforcement officials remind all residents that they never make official contact with individuals in this way and to not give money or personal information to them. If receiving these calls, the post ask residents to call 911 to report the incident and so it can be documented
