An academy which helps citizens gain perspective and insight into the lives and service of police officers in Taney County graduated its second class.
The Taney County Sheriff’s Department Citizens Academy graduated the Class of 2024 on April 8.
According to a post on the Taney County Sheriff Citizens Academy Alumni Association Facebook page participated in a nearly three month course to learn about the ongoing process of the justice system.
“It has been such a great year having them learn about the Sheriffs Department and us getting to know them,” states the post. “It was a 11 week class which consisted of Criminal investigation, jail , 911 communications, active threat response, traffic enforcement, crime scene, simulator and basic first aid just to name a few of the classes. We look forward to next year’s Class. Special thanks to Sergeant Wilson, Sheriff Daniels and all the teachers that gave their time to come teach the classes.”
