Thursday has been designated in Branson as a day to celebrate afterschool programs according to a release from the City.
Mayor Larry Milton read a proclamation declaring October 28, 2021, as Lights on Afterschool Day in celebrating local afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of Branson area children at the October, 26 regular Board of Aldermen meeting and presented the proclamation to the Director of Operations of the Boys and Girls Club of the Ozarks, Patrick Stewart.
In the proclamation, Mayor Milton recognizes how important afterschool programs are to support our local youth, especially in challenging times and help address the academic, social and emotional needs of children.
“Branson is committed to investing in the health and safety of all young people by providing expanded learning opportunities that help our children learn and grow while helping them develop the skills essential for success in life and work,” said Mayor Milton in the Proclamation.
