The new City Administrator in Forsyth is enjoying a different side of involvement in serving citizens.
Jim Viebrock is in his second month as the City Administrator in Forsyth have served at different levels of government earlier. Viebrock, who lived in the Springfield area for many years, had served as a member of the House of Representatives for eight years then also served as Greene County Presiding Commissioner for four years. Viebrock, who also worked in the real estate business, had semi-retired and moved to the Branson area when had got to know some of the aldermen in Forsyth who asked his advice which led to him being tabbed to accepting the administrators role.
Viebrock said the first few weeks have been busy, helping develop the City's Budget for implementation for the start of the Fiscal Year on September 1st while the city continues to look for a fulltime finance officer. Just a week after starting the job, the city experienced flooding with the heavy rains of July 17 which put the city into recovery mode. Viebrock was impressed with how all the area agencies communicated with each other during and after the storms.
Viebrock said improving infrastructure management and monitoring has been a top priority as well as procedures in the Public Works Department to prevent the repeat of an incident that led to a leak from a manhole cover flowing into Swan Creek.
