North Arkansas College Scrub Tech Program trains people with the knowledge and skills necessary to be a surgical techs, according to the program's temporary director, Scott Kernodle.
Scott Kernodle appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Wednesday to talk about the 11-to-12-month North Arkansas College Scrub Tech Program. He's the temporary program director. He also graduated from the program in 2005.
Kernodle explained that a surgical tech works to deliver "surgical care" to patients. The program equips them with the skills and knowledge needed to enter the field.
He said that the program has undergone many changes. A high school education or GED is required.
Certain prerequisites must be met; these prerequisites include two English Composition classes, biology classes and more. More information is available online.
