The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has issued a follow-up release about Zebra Mussels in Bull Shoals Lake.
In an initial release last week, it was stated that Zebra Mussels, an invasive species that threatens native aquatic life, had been detected in Bull Shoals Lake near Lead Hill. In a release posted by the Harrison Daily Times, AGFC Officials clarify that discovery of the Zebra Mussels was not recent and dates back to 2007.
Zebra Mussels have been detected in both the Missouri and Arkansas sections of the lake for several years. The release was meant to remind boat owners thoroughly clean their boats, especially if moving from one lake to another.
More information on prevention of Zebra Mussels spreading can be found with the full story in the Harrison Daily Times as well as on the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission Website.
