With heavy hearts and deep admiration, we celebrate the life of Richard “Dick” Nels Jensen, a cherished father, friend, and true free spirit, who passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at the age of 74.
Dick was born in Shenandoah, Iowa on January 16, 1952. He grew up in Shenandoah and after high school worked in various industries as an entrepreneur and content creator. He raised his five children with love and kindness. In 2009 after visiting Branson on the recommendation of his friend, he moved to the area permanently, falling in love with the atmosphere and people of the Branson area.
Music was the heartbeat of Dick’s life. He adored live concerts, and his enthusiasm for rock n’ roll was infectious. Through his deep connections, Dick often secured the best seats in the house or backstage meet and greets, granting him unforgettable moments with music legends and treasured memories that he shared joyfully with friends and family.
He operated Dick’s Records at the Branson Mall, turning his passion into a welcoming space for fellow music lovers. His shop was more than a store; it was a gathering place filled with stories of legendary concerts and a place for fellow record lovers to enjoy and find treasures.
Ever eager to connect people with the local Branson scene, Dick founded the Branson Insider Facebook Page. Through this platform, he brought awareness and a lively spin to the Branson music, arts and events scene.
