Sterling Brian Vincent, age 71, passed away on July 6, 2026, in Branson, Missouri.
Sterling was born on April 24, 1955, in New Albany, Indiana, to William B. and Orpha (Peterson) Vincent. He spent his childhood in Dearborn, Michigan, and Bloomington, Minnesota, where he developed a love of fishing and enjoyed the train garden his parents built together.
Following a brief time working for Ford Motor Company in St. Paul, Minnesota, Sterling moved to Houston, Texas, where he attended trade school and learned to repair microwave ovens and commercial restaurant equipment. His career later took him to Phoenix, Arizona, where he enjoyed spending time with his parents after they retired to nearby Mesa.
In the mid-1990s, Sterling made Kirbyville, Missouri, his home. He purchased his first house there and remained in the area for the rest of his life. During the next 30 years, he worked for Silver Dollar City, Big Cedar Lodge, and Ace Hardware, where he was known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and mechanical skills.
Sterling found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially fishing and spending time with family and friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor that brought smiles to those around him, and he will be remembered for his kind heart, quiet nature, and ability to make others laugh.
He is survived by his sisters, Vanessa Vincent, and Kimberly Moran and her husband, Michael Moran, as well as many cousins in Indiana and Michigan.
A memorial service celebrating Sterling's life will be held in Indiana at a later date.
