On Saturday, there will be a county-wide residential clean-up in Boone County from 8 until 3 at Methvin Sanitation on Industrial Park Road in Harrison.
Items accepted will be electronics including modems, laptops, microwaves, cell phones and other electronics; junk iron including washers, dryers, wood stoves and scrap metal; furniture, mattresses and carpet; and tires with a limit of 10 and no tractor or industrial type tire will be accepted. All tires must be off the rim. TV’s and computer monitors will be accepted for a charge of $5 each.
Items not accepted include refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners and dehumidifiers; hazardous household materials including batteries, flourescent light bulbs, chemicals and paint; yard waster; construction debris; ordinary trash or anything not listed above.
All persons must remain in their vehicle unless they are wearing a hard hat and reflective vest.
This service is being staffed by the Boone County Road Department and the Harrison Street Department.
