Christmas 2025 was the warmest on record for many areas, which also saw some of the warmest temperatures for December ever recorded.
The National Weather Service Office in Springfield posted the temperatures for Springfield from the 23rd through the 28th with record highs either broken or tied each day, including 77-degree readings on Christmas Day and on Saturday, the highest recorded for December since the weather service began collecting daily temperatures in 1888.
Meanwhile, the NWS Office in Tulsa also posts information for some areas of Arkansas reporting temperatures that reached 80 or better in both Fayetteville and Fort Smith during the period.
Several unofficial reports, including by Storm Dar in Branson, showed some 80-degree readings in the Lakes Region prior to the arrival of the cold front on Sunday.
