A freak accident in Taney County has sent the driver of an ATV to the hospital in serious condition.
The accident occurred on Prescott Road south of Kissee Mills just after 4:00 Wednesday afternoon, when a 71-year-old woman was hauling a roll of carpet which then dislodged locking the throttle. The drive tried to regain control of the ATV but overcorrected and was ejected from the vehicle after it overturned.
The woman was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment.
