The President and CEO of the Table Rock Lake Chamber of Commerce says that visitors are again coming to the Lakes Region in large numbers.
Shelia Thomas says during a Thursday interview on KRZK's "Ozarks Now" program that tax revenue numbers are trending similar to last year and that several events hosted around the Lake and in Stone County have been well attended.
Thomas did echo the thoughts of other officials in the area that getting a stable workforce is essential to continuing those trends over the long-term and that the key to a stable workforce is an improvement in the housing market, specifically affordable housing.
During her conversation, Thomas did say that one business that was shutdown due to the collapse of a portion of the roof at the Kimberling City Mall has reopened and that it is very encouraging that voters passed the Prop P Law Enforcement Tax as well as school issues in Crane and Reeds Spring during the elections earlier this month.
